Getting Started

Using Trait–Gene Evidence

Compare GWAS, TWAS, SMR, colocalization, and EWAS in one dataset–trait context.

Choose a comparable context

Select species, dataset or population, and trait before comparing methods. Results from different datasets are not automatically interchangeable because sample composition, tissue, molecular layer, and analysis settings can differ.

Combine complementary evidence

  • GWAS supplies trait-associated genomic signals.
  • TWAS tests genetically predicted molecular features against the trait.
  • SMR and HEIDI assess evidence compatible with a shared genetic effect under their assumptions.
  • Colocalization estimates posterior support for shared association patterns within a locus.
  • EWAS tests measured molecular feature–trait association under the configured model.
