Gene search

Select the species before entering a gene identifier, gene name, alias, or annotation term. Exact supported identifiers open the gene-centered result directly; broader text can be narrowed through the Gene Catalog.

The catalog text field filters the complete indexed collection, not only the visible page. Sorting changes browse order, while selecting a row runs the corresponding gene search.

Trait search

Trait search uses phenotype terms retained from source studies and conservatively standardized for browsing. Similar labels can describe different measurements, environments, units, or populations, so confirm the source context before treating them as the same trait.

• Use a broad biological term first, then refine it with the Trait Catalog.
• Check dataset and population context on the result page.
• Treat nearby genes as positional candidates until supported by additional evidence.
